Quote: "As warriors left to go to battle, they each put a rock in a pile. When they got home again, they each removed one. The number of rocks left equaled the number of men lost."
-To me this quote is amazing because instead of writing down how many people died during the war, they used pebbles to calculate the how many died.

Question: My question for this article is about the number zero and how they were talking about the year zero. Was there really a zero year? because they are saying that it was not.

Comment: My comment to my question is that I think there had might have been a year zero because like they were saying in the Gregorian calender they said that the year of 1 A.D. represents the year of 0 to 1 year of A.D .

Quote: "Those with the fixed mindset were the people who believed that: to be great at a sport you need to be naturally gifted."
- I think the line "to be great at a sport you need to be naturally gifted" is kind of weird saying because this does not happen all the time, if your not naturally gifted does not mean you are not good than the gifted ones.

Question: Does anyone ever do math when it comes to any sports?

Comment: I think this reading was interesting. I liked how they talked about some of the famous players and everything that they did or what happened to them.

Quote: "So if Pluto really is a planet, it is certainly an odd one."

Question: -So is Pluto a real planet or is it just something that is in space? Have scientist determined weather it is or not a planet.
-On page 21 at the bottom of the page why do you think astronomers think there maybe a planet X someone out there? And how do they know it is twice as size as Jupiter? Wouldn't they be able to see it?

Comment: This is good paper to read about planets and other things, but how does this relate to math?

Quote:
In less than a minute the universe is a million billion miles across and growing fast.

Question:
Is this like the video we watched in class about how fast it is to get to one spot to outer space and further?

Comment:
I picked this quote because it was kind of interesting and it kind of strikes me that the universe is still growing.
